Edmond + Elizabeth

These two love birds crack me up. I first met with them quite some time ago to talk about photographing their wedding. We just recently got together to shoot engagement pics... and I loved how free spirited they were. Plus, they're adorable together! (And they're brilliant... between them they speak 4 (or was it 5?) languages! Amazing!)

I love this shot!

They indulged me and my whim for the recent church/garage sale chairs I salvaged...

See what I mean? Adorable!

Who knew street signage could look so good?

I am so pumped to shoot your wedding you two. Thanks for choosing KaBloom!

Family Time

I love getting to spend time with families photographing them as themselves. This particular family was simply adorable....

This little booger reminded me of my younger sister for some reason... she was hilarious!

What is up with boys having such long, gorgeous eye lashes! No fair! :)

I love this shot!

The calm, quiet of this is image seems so powerful to me.

You guys were so fun.... I look forward to next time! Enjoy your photos are have a fab summer!

Remembering "Home"

This is Emily. Her parents recently bought a new house... and the whole family is moving! Emily and her two sisters are pretty excited though... the new house has a POOL! (Complete with.... you guessed it... a WATER SLIDE. This is pretty much my childhood dream......)

To celebrate, we did one last shoot at the old house before they pack up and head to their new one. Very exciting!

Caroline had to get in on the chalk action too...

Emily shows me her swimming skills...

Baby sis plays in the grass for the first time!

Uh.... It wasn't a huge hit. Maybe next time? :)

So fun to see you all again... best wishes on the move. Maybe our next shoot can be underwater?!

Yes, I'm One of 'Those' People...

Who blogs about their cats... and that means occasional feline furriness photo opps... Here's Merki soaking up the sun. Such a life! :)

Here she is 'soakin' in the sink....

Twice the Fun!

I have wanted a tandem bike for.... ever. For as long as I can remember. Since the Double Mint commercials, since I saw one at the Walton Trail Co. (remember that place?), since... well... you get the idea. Plus, how cool would it be for photo shoots? (Engaged couples... that means YOU!)

A few months ago I bought one online, but it arrived damaged and so I sent it back. :(

BUT! This past weekend while on my way to shoot a wedding, I passed a garage sale with a tandem treasure! With no time to stop, I frantically dialed my mom (garage sale maven and bargaining queen!) and begged her to drop whatever she was doing and get the bike (my bike).

She was happy to help (she IS the best....). Too big to fit in my truck, my dad delivered it this morning. I am in heaven!

I love the retro font... complete with little 'stars.' Cute! This baby is the real deal... I love it!

Hey Boys - There's a Girl in the House!

The Bradley household has been mostly ruled by boys.... until recently....

Yes... here she is!

Isn't she a doll?

Hang in there little sista'.... you've got two big brothers to look after you!

Mother & Daughter

Mary and her daughter are buds. They like to hang out downtown sipping coffee and catching up. Recently, Mary asked me for a 'just because' shoot, and I was happy to oblige! I love what we captured! Spending time with 'mom' is always the best!

Kudos to you ladies! Enjoy your photos!

Carol & Crew

Carol has been a long time student/friend of mine.... and recently rounded up her husband, their kids, and even the grandchildren for a family photoshoot. Here she is with her hubby... and some of my favorite pics of the grand kids...

Great to meet the rest of the crew Carol! You guys were a hoot!

Derek & Lindsey : Fabulous!

The next chapter of Derek & Lindsey's lives together started today! Their family and friends were a blast to work with... and we laughed a LOT. :) You guys rocked it!

Here's a quickie sneak peek!

Look at those eyes!

Lindsey & Derek both work for NU Athletics... so naturally, a trip to the stadium was in order. I LOVE this shot!

Here's Lindsey workin' the wind!

How cute are their place holders?

This is Lindsey's dad... isn't he adorable? Yes, I will admit... I cried during his toast. I'm such a sucker for the fathers! What can I say? I'm a total daddy's girl myself. : )

Gorgeous!

Lindsey makes the chicken dance look good!

You were incredible to work with! Congratulations to you all!

Michelle + Jared : Simply Gorgeous!

Michelle & Jared were married just today.... I am in LOVE with the results! Special thanks to everyone for indulging my creative whim(s)! (Seriously.... I love when clients are so trusting!)

Here are just a *few* of my favorites.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting me be part of your day. May your days be filled with love and happiness!

Mother's Day

I actually got away from my computer (first time in longer than I can remember!) and managed to visit not only both Emir & I's mothers, but also both of my grandmothers -a great day!

This is the daisy we brought to Emir's mom. I loved how it looked in the window light of their dining room. Beautiful!

Much love to you all!

Self-Portraits at the Airport

Nothing like a point-and-shoot and a captive subject to give you a little inspiration... Here we are awaiting our winged chariot to the Windy City.

Sometimes you don't have to look far for interesting views....

Point-and-Shoot Chicago!

7am in Chicago's Lincoln Park. This was one of the most gorgeous spring days in all of my mentally recorded history. Perfection, I tell ya! (Except for the part a short while later where my laptop completely let me down!!!)

Sunbeam glory!

My obsession with red doors continues.

24 Inches of Glory

I broke down and finally upgraded a bunch of computer 'stuff' recently. At the top of the list, was my need for a monitor that would actually improve my life. Ha! Emir set it up for me while I was in Texas teaching Photoshop. Glorious!

On a random side note... did you know that the Austin, TX airport provides LIVE MUSIC Monday - Friday???? How awesome is THAT?

Lisa + Doug : Rain Can't Stop 'Em!

Lisa and Doug tied the knot today... and wouldn't let the constant down pour dampen their spirits! Here's a quick sneak peek before I hit the hay for the night...

Gotta have a ring glory shot...

Look at this little cutie!

Not sure who's more adorable... (gotta love the fedora!)

Lisa and Doug are sports fanatics... so naturally, their day included a stop at Memorial Stadium...

This is Jessica. She is such a doll!

The cake glory shot!

Wishing you a lifetime of happiness! :)

Happy Pangea Day!

The whole thing kicks off at 1pm local time. You can watch online... or if gathering with other local peeps is more in your nature, check out local hosts and enter your zip code to find a local Pangea Day party! (There are at least 2 public ones in Lincoln!)

Sisters

This past summer I shot Kinsley's senior photos. She came back for more... and this time, she brought her two sisters along for a Mother's Day surprise!

I think the girls were more surprised than anyone when the weather went crazy... wind and rain galore! It couldn't stop us from getting some ice cream though. :)

Cute shoes must run in their family!

Finally headed back to shelter...

You gals are troopers! That was loads o' fun... I hope it's a big hit with mom!

New IP Address!

The website will be goofy for the next 8 hours while it 'propagates' to the new IP address. KaBloom has a dedicated SSL now! Woot!

Hang it there. It will right itself soon.

Lacey + Evan : Love in Bloom

Lacey + Evan came for an engagement shoot a couple weeks ago. While out and about, we happened past this gorgeous field a'bloom with spring. How could we resist?

Don't you just love wearing heels in the grass?

Great job guys! Can't wait to shoot your wedding in August!

Tree Swing Happiness!

I am in LOVE with this photo!

Darja is another 2008 senior who saved her photos for spring... (she is far from alone!). An interesting gal, she has lived in several countries and is quite the little traveler!

Who knew an abandoned relic of a classic truck could be so cool?

New glasses!

More classic relic-ness... :)

Most of our shoot revolved around the stables where she rides her horse. So fun!

Great job Darja! Best wishes next year!

Love Shoot : Heart Safari

On a tip from a friend, we headed out to find the elusive 'heart' rumored to be gracing the walls of a downtown alley. After much anticipation, we finally found it... and laughed our tails off when we saw how small it was. Ha ha ha! It was still quite delightful.... Thanks for the tip Kevin. :)

Whoa! That is one HUGE heart!

Perhaps Andrew should go into theatre... he seems to have a knack for it.

Lindsay could go into super modeling.... I love the energy she gives off.

Andrew's frat house. (Red door... I'm always such a sucka for those!)

OMG- Yes, those are her actual blue eyes. I am loving the intensity in her expression here. It's not always about big huge grins and giggles... I love it when clients can summon their inner calm on cue. Ha! :)

Cute toes to boot!

Again, a red door. (See what I mean?) This one has a bonus though... between them there is ANOTHER HEART! This one is white... and if you look closely, it's made up of the letters L-O-V-E skewed in such a way that it creates a heart. We were on a roll!

Again, those eyes!

You guys were rock stars! I can't wait to shoot your wedding!

Vicki + Lynn : Sneak Peek

Lynn & Vicki tied the knot earlier tonight. The weather was AMAZING. Here are a few of my faves. Working with the two of them was nothing but fun!

Double bonus? The chair I shot this on was for sale at the church garage sale... guess who is the proud new owner!? :)

Any guesses what this was shot on? :)

Great colors!

See what I mean about fun?

That was spectacular guys! I'm honored to have been part of it. Congratulations! :)

Jesslyn on Tap!

This is Miss Jesslyn. She came for late season 2008 senior pics... and brought along her prom dress and tap shoes. What fun!

Happy graduation Jesslyn!

From the Garden

The other day while feverishly working at my desk, Emir walked in the door with this tulip he plucked from our yard. I LOVE the colors! :) Thanks sweet thing!

More Mrs. Nebraska Gals!

Amy is a red haired beauty competing in the June Mrs. Nebraska pageant. A joy to work with, I wish her all the best! :)

Michaela + David : Sneak Peek

Michaela & David just got married today (Technically yesterday, since it's now after midnight!) Brave souls - They got married outside, in the drizzle... and it was fantastic!

I brought umbrellas with me for whoever wanted 'em... 'just in case.' :)

May your lives be filled with love and happiness! Have fun in Hawaii guys. Thanks for letting me share your day with you!

Melissa + Kris : The Baby Belly Sneak Peek

Back in 2006 I had the honor and privilege of photographing Kris & Melissa's wedding, and I'm pumped to be back to shoot prego pics! (We never did figure out when/how that term became popular.... hmmm.)

Plus, with the little one on the way, I'll be back soon for newborn fun! Yay!

This is the funniest shot of the day. Sometimes, you just have to get dirty. :)

So fab to see you both again! Enjoy your sneak peek. The rest are coming soon!

I Love My Job!

How sweet is this? (click on the image to enlarge)

Knock Out (aka: Rachel)

How is it that my clients all happen to be INCREDIBLY GORGEOUS all the time? Seriously! Maybe some of the gorgeousness will rub off on me eventually! Ha!

In the meantime, I'll soak up what I can from this little beauty. Rachel is another gal who saved her senior pictures for the spring. We had to reschedule a few times... so when it finally worked out, even though it was wildly windy (try saying that 3 times fast!), we wouldn't let it stop us.

Warning: This is a photo mega post. Too many fun shots to share!

Reow!

I love this pic! This is the exact moment she realized she was covered in tree sapp. Yuck! Luckily, I had some Goo Gone on hand and we got it all taken care of back at the studio. FYI: Goo Gone is AWESOME!

A self-proclaimed hippie, I thought this log was apropos.

Lovin' the laughter shots!

Seriously, I think Vogue is calling... any minute now!

I love the expression on her face in this one.

This may be my absolute favorite....

On top of everything else, she's a glam biker babe who's big time into Motor Cross!

Are you surprised Rachel? The wind can't hide your gorgeousness! Your photos rock!

Rachel... Coming Soon!

Rachel's shoot was a BLOW OUT! Literally. The wind was brutal! There are some rockin' shots in the mix though... stay tuned!
